Communications Support Assistant
£15153 to £18430 pa (37 hours per week)

Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service operates a fully integrated infrastructure, predominantly running Microsoft applications with HP hardware, putting them at the leading edge of technology.  The ICT Department is responsible for the management of the telephony, radio and data networks, via a distributed WAN, including mobile data units linked to our Command and Control Centre.

We are seeking an individual with at least 2 years’ experience in first line ICT support and administration working within a customer service, helpdesk role, involving extensive telephone liaison.  You will be required to liaise with external service providers and engineers to ensure speedy faulty resolution, have the ability to investigate and provide solutions for issues raised, and work within a team to help meet Helpdesk Service Level Agreements.

You must have practical technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows platform with the ability to learn in-house applications and systems software.  In addition, you will need a good understanding of operating systems, in particular Microsoft XP and general ICT knowledge, with the ability to explain technical issues to clients using plain language.
