Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service holds its second Achievers' Awards Lunch this week to recognise the exceptional work of a number of staff.
The lunch will take place at the service's Bowthorpe Training Centre where awards will be presented to a wide range of fire and rescue service staff in both uniformed and support roles.
Helen McDermott, Community Reporter with 999 Radio Norwich, will present the awards to 20 achievers, who have all been nominated by work colleagues. Helen will also present NVQ certificates to a number of recipients.
Recipients this year include: * a Crew Manager for the long standing committment and assistance he has given to his crew and the many years of exemplary service he has given to the service. * the leaders of Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service's Cadet Units for their dedication to the young people of Norfolk in their roles as Cadet Leaders. * the service's photographer for his hard work and never ending enthusiasm for all things Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service.
Richard Elliott, Chief Fire Officer for Norfolk, said: "Last year we held our first Achievers' Awards lunch at Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service. We have our annual awards evening in November every year but I wanted to hold a more informal, but no less important, event which recognises exceptional work and effort and rewards those who have gone the extra mile. Last year's event proved a real success and I am sure this years will be equally enjoyable."
Wyndham Northam, Cabinet Member for Fire and Community Protection, said: "The hard work and commitment of all staff at Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service was especially evident during the summer we have just had and is truly commendable. A number of those staff will have their efforts recognised at the Achievers' Awards and I congratulate all this year's recipients."
The Achievers' Awards Lunch takes place between 12.30pm and 2pm on Wednesday September 13.
