Child car seat checking

The use of a correctly fitted child restraint system greatly reduces the risk of a child being injured in the event of a crash, we witness this many times each year.

The law says that all children up to 135cm tall (around 4'5"), or the age of 12, whichever comes first, in the front or rear seats in cars, vans and other goods vehicles must travel in the correct child restraint for their weight with very few exceptions.

For further advice on child safety in cars and the law visit the Think! website.

At events across Norfolk, we check the safe fitting of child seats. This is not a service available in all areas of the County. If you would like more information on child seat safety or to arrange for the Service to attend your event for seat checking.
