Smoke alarms

"Smoke alarms are the only efficient way of alerting people to a fire in their home”.

While many people now have good working smoke alarms in their home however, there are still many who do not and who are running the dreadful risks associated with a fire in the home.

Norfolk Fire & Rescue Service would very much like to see everyone in every home in Norfolk protected by smoke alarms.

In an effort to meet the needs of those who are currently without smoke alarms or those who require special equipment to alert them in case of fire, Norfolk Fire & Rescue Service will arrange to fit free smoke alarms and carry out a home fire risk assessment for all vulnerable and older groups of people and for those most at risk from fire.

To receive your free smoke alarms and home fire risk assessment complete this form or call us today on Freephone 0800 9178137 so we can assess you and your family to see if you qualify for our free service.  In all cases we will advise how to keep you, your family and your home safe from fire.

Guidance Leaflets:

The types of smoke alarms we fit are 10 year long life battery operated alarms.

For those with hearing impairment we fit the Bellman Visit Smoke Alarm System. The smoke alarm transmitter is fitted to the ceiling just like an ordinary smoke alarm.

The smoke alarm is activated with an optical sensor by smoke  from fires and sends a radio signal to the Bellman Receiver for clear alerting via a flashing light and a vibrating pad that wakes you when you are asleep at night.
